Alex joined Salesforce in 2015 to establish and run Salesforce Ventures in Europe. Salesforce is the fastest growing enterprise software company ever to reach $8B in revenue, and has been named Innovator of the Decade by Forbes. Alex leads Salesforce Ventures' $100M fund dedicated to backing European enterprise cloud startups. Representative portfolio companies include Automile, Carto, DigitalGenius, FinanceFox, NewVoiceMedia, Onfido, Qubit and RedKix.

Alex brings over a decade of experience across technology and finance, having been both an investor and entrepreneur. Prior to Salesforce, he helped establish Hermes Growth Partners, a venture growth firm investing in enterprise SaaS and fintech companies across the US and Europe. While at Hermes, Alex led the investment in The Trade Desk (Nasdaq: TTD), where he served on the Board. He was also involved with the firm’s investments in RingCentral (NYSE: RNG) and Fuze (acquired by ThinkingPhones).

As an entrepreneur, Alex was the founder/CEO of TableZest, a company in the data analytics and customer loyalty space looking to disrupt the restaurant industry. He began his career at Merrill Lynch, initially working for the CFO and subsequently within investment banking where he advised companies on IPOs and M&A deals.

Alex holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in economics and international relations from Boston University. A native of Switzerland, he speaks five languages and has worked across three continents.
