Renew Financial is a leading provider of the Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) model of financing energy and water efficiency and renewable upgrades to homes and businesses. Invented by Cisco DeVries, PACE has been used to finance more than $2 billion in clean energy projects across the country. PACE is a central component of a major White House clean energy and energy efficiency initiative unveiled in 2015, and it was also named one of the top 20 “world-changing” ideas by Scientific American magazine.
Renew Financial, which Cisco DeVries founded in 2008, provides financing through PACE and its energy loan products in states from California to New York. The company regularly accesses the institutional capital markets through rated securitizations and other transactions.

Prior to founding Renew Financial, Cisco DeVries spent 15 years in politics and policy in a number of public and private sector roles. From 1996-1998 he served in the administration of President Bill Clinton as an aide to the U.S. Secretary of Energy and the U.S. Secretary of Transportation. He also served as Chief of Staff to the Mayor of Berkeley, California, where he envisioned and led the initial development of BerkeleyFIRST, the original model for PACE.
