Desiree Perez is the Chief Executive Officer of Roc Nation, the multiservice agency she founded with Jay-Z. Previously, she was the Chief Operating Officer for the organization since 2009. She began her most recent role in late 2019.In her role, Perez oversees development and growth across the Roc Nation portfolio of services and ventures, including new business development, music, management, philanthropy, publishing, touring, and television and film development.Roc Nation is home to some of the world’s most successful entertainers. The business manages some of the music industry’s biggest stars, including Big Sean, DJ Khaled, Fabolous, Fat Joe, Jim Jones, Lil Uzi Vert, Meek Mill, Megan Thee Stallion, Miguel, Robin Thicke, Shakira, Tinashe, and Yo Gotti. Its record label is home to, among others, Jay-Z, J. Cole, Jaden Smith, Rapsody, Rihanna, Vic Mensa, and Willow Smith.Its philanthropic arm collaborates with such noted organizations as the Shawn Carter Foundation, the Cara Lionel Foundation, the RC24 Foundation, the REFORM Alliance, and Team Roc.In 2019, Desiree Perez was named Executive of the Year at Billboard's 2019 Women in Music awards. She rose to her leadership roles at Roc Nation after starting her career as a part-time nightclub manager. It was in that role that she first booked Jay-Z. She later helped launch The 40/40 Club in Manhattan.Known for her tireless commitment to her work and her clients, Perez has helped to negotiate major deals for Roc Nation. Among her most notable achievements is the negotiation of the Beyoncé Formation stadium tour and the Rihanna deal with Samsung. In her previous role, she oversaw operations, including labeling operations and publishing.Perez is part of a collective that runs the entire operation of Roc Nation, it’s sections of management, labeling operations as well as publishing. This collective also runs the forces that is behind Tidal. This special collective is called Hova Circle of Influence and the other individuals involved it is includes Jana Fleischman, Chaka Pilgrim, Jay Brown and Ty Ty Smith.
