Grant Dixton is vice president and assistant general counsel for Boeing Defense, Space & Security, a $31 billion business with 53,000 employees worldwide. He was appointed to this position in November 2007, and is responsible for all legal advice and counsel to the business. Dixton is a member of the Boeing Defense, Space & Security Leadership Team and the Boeing Law Department Leadership Team.

Dixton joined Boeing in September 2006 as vice president and assistant general counsel. In that role, he assisted in the management of the Law Department and provided advice to Boeing's senior leadership on a range of matters across the company.

Prior to joining Boeing, Dixton served in the White House as Associate Counsel to the President. In this role, he provided legal, policy, and strategic advice on subjects including lobbying and ethics reform, tort reform, internal investigations, and significant litigation matters involving the U.S. government. In addition, he provided counsel on issues related to the departments of Health and Human Services, Interior, and Agriculture, and the Environmental Protection Agency. As a member of the White House Judicial Selection Committee, he assisted in identifying and evaluating candidates for federal judgeships.

Before working in the federal government, Dixton was in private practice at Kirkland & Ellis in Washington, where he specialized in appellate and trial litigation. He handled commercial, intellectual property, administrative, class action, contract, criminal, and constitutional matters.

Previously, Dixton served as a law clerk for the Honorable Anthony M. Kennedy at the Supreme Court of the United States, and for the Honorable J. Michael Luttig at the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. He also has held positions at the Department of Justice, and at Hale and Dorr, a law firm in Washington.

Dixton received his Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Arts degrees from Harvard University. He is a member of the board of directors of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library Foundation.
