Janet Johnstone is Chief Administrative Officer Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). In this role she is responsible for coordinating and overseeing a robust administrative and governance environment across the EMEA region. She manages a team of six, reporting to the EMEA Chief Operating Officer working closely, too with the Chairman of the region. She is focused on expediting the execution of the EMEA priorities as agreed by the EMEA Operating Committee. She achieves results as she operates and influences collaboratively within the region. She is well equipped to execute on her objectives in this role by dint of her experience in the financial services industry in South Africa, the Middle East and in London.

Janet moved to London in 2010 in the capacity of Chief Administrative Officer Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) for the Client Management group.

Janet is a member of the EMEA Executive Committee, EMEA Operating Committee, the Middle East and Africa Management Committee, the Dubai Management Committee, the EMEA Revenue Council. She chairs the EMEA CAO Roundtable and is a member of the Global CAO Roundtable. Janet joined the Boards of Pershing Limited, Pershing Securities Limited and Pershing Holdings (UK) Limited.


From 2008 to 2010, Janet was based in Dubai where BNY Mellon operates its regional management hub for the Middle East and Africa Division from the Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC). Here she fulfilled the role of CAO, MEA.


Prior to the Middle East assignment, Janet was the Country Manager for South Africa and had overall responsibility for BNY Mellon’s business development in this market as well as other countries in the sub-Saharan African region where the opportunity arises.
