As a founder, CEO, and board director, Kahlil Byrd (KB) has successfully launched and scaled technology and data-enabled platforms across fintech and national politics.

He is the Founder and CEO of Invest America, which works to solve big societal problems using data, technology, and product development. Clients include leaders and organizations whose aspirations have the potential to reach and improve the lives of 150+ million American citizens and their communities. Over a decade, we have worked with more than 100 clients and partners, building products and organizations that sourced and deployed almost a billion dollars. The next challenge: building Shur -- an InsurTech company focused on eliminating the crisis of $161 billion defaulted student loans in the United States.

Previously, he was the founding CEO of a national initiative to re-imagine the presidential nominating process by leveraging data and technology for hundreds of thousands of users. The organization - Americans Elect - deployed more than $45 million and had 8,000 staff and volunteers, and won the 2012 People’s Choice Award at South by Southwest and two CLIO Awards for content and interactive excellence.

For the past two decades, KB has specialized in devising long-term strategies, securing substantial monetary investments, and achieving wins at state and national levels. This includes leading an advisory firm that exclusively serves the most creative financiers and builders of complex organizations and movements.

He is an active member of the boards of Voatz and With Honor; and is on the advisory boards of Leadership Now Project, Committee for Responsible Federal Budget’s FixUs Initiative, and Lightbeam. He is a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations and served with CFR as an International Affairs Fellow. He is a graduate of Morehouse College and Harvard Kennedy School.

KB and his wife Sarah, Executive Director of the national non-profit Women Moving Millions, live in Brooklyn.
