K. V. Rao is the co-founder of Silicon Valley-based unicorn Zuora, Inc, which held its IPO on April 12, 2018 (NYSE: ZUO). Rao also served as Zuora's Chief Strategist and President. Previously, Rao was Director of Technology at WebEx (acq. by Cisco), and also worked for Salesforce.com and SGI. He started his career as the proverbial rocket scientist, as an Associate Scientist at NASA, then spent several years developing products at General Motors. He's currently CEO of Aviso, serves as a member of the Advisory Board at Zuora, and is a US patent holder in computing technology. Rao earned his Ph.D. in Engineering from Iowa State University, an M.S. from the University of Missouri-Rolla, and a B.Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
