Maria also held senior legal positions in GE Oil & Gas, with a specific focus on managing legal affairs for commercial operations and global services. As an admitted lawyer in both the UK and Italy, she started her career working for law firms in these countries.

Maria has lectured on international contract drafting and negotiations at the University of Florence, Italy and also served the European Commission as a member of an elite stakeholder panel appointed to harmonize contract laws in Europe.

Maria holds a degree in Law from the University of Palermo in Italy. In her free time Maria likes to be in her house in Sicily with her family.
