Michael Darcy B.Eng MBA CEng MIET is a UK national with 20 years’ experience in mobile and satellite communications, including nearly 10 years as CEO of the EMEA business of Hughes Communications, a global (US-headquartered) telecommunications company – which he grew to more than $100M revenue. Prior to that with Hughes, Mr. Darcy was responsible for managing multiple large R&D projects, with values ranging from $160 million to $250 million, for 2G (GSM voice and GPRS data) mobile communication systems over satellite. Mr. Darcy has more recently served as the CEO of an international telecoms company based in Ghana and serving West and Central Africa, with considerable experience in deploying rural telephony base stations for the major licensed mobile network operators. Mr. Darcy has a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and a Master’s degree in Business Administration.
