Mohammad Akhtar, 48, is senior vice president, sales, for Motorola Solutions’ Asia Pacific and Middle East (APME) region. He is responsible for driving the company’s government and public safety as well as enterprise business in the region.

Akhtar has spent more than 20 years in Motorola’s Networks business, which in 2010 became a part of Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN), where he was a member of the executive management team. His career has spanned the Middle East, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, Africa and Russia. Akhtar returned to Motorola Solutions in 2012.

Akhtar earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington and a master’s degree in business administration from Northwestern University in Illinois. He also has a doctorate degree from the Waseda University in Japan.
