Rumi Morales serves as Head of CME Ventures, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CME Group that makes minority stake investments in early stage technology companies whose innovative products and services may impact the financial services industry. Areas of expertise include artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and distributed ledger/blockchain technologies. She currently also serves as an Advisory Member at the Chamber of Digital Commerce. Previously at CME, Rumi served as Executive Director, International Corporate Development and Finance, where she sourced, structured and negotiated international business development opportunities with other global exchanges.Before joining CME Group, Rumi spent several years at Goldman Sachs, last serving as head of the Asia arm of its Global Markets Institute based in Hong Kong. She also was an executive in the Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities division in New York and served in the Office of the Chairman. Prior to Goldman Sachs, Rumi was a Principal at venture capital firms based in New York, London and Kuala Lumpur. Rumi graduated magna cum laude from Wellesley College, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and received her MBA from the New York University Stern School of Business. She was named to Crain's Chicago Business Tech 50 and 40 Under 40 lists, as well as Institutional Investor's 2015 and 2016 Fintech Finance 35 most powerful dealmakers in financial technology.
