Ryan van den Bergh plays a leading role in a small focused team within MTN South Africa responsible for developing strategies and roadmaps for the deployment of new network technologies. Amongst his more notable recent projects, Ryan was responsible for leading the technical teams involved in MTN South Africa’s 5G trials, as well as numerous other new radio and network technology trials. Alongside his other responsibilities, he is currently focused on the development of MTN South Africa’s Telco Cloudification strategy and future roadmap. Ryan holds a PhD from the University of the Witwatersrand, where his thesis broke new ground in the field of Reconfigurable Radio Access Networks, and he is busy completing his MBA at the University of Cape Town.
