Satoshi Iwata is the senior executive director responsible for the ITS Business Unit at DENSO Corporation in Kariya, Aichi, Japan. Iwata also oversees the Information & Safety Systems Business Group and DENSO's Tokyo office.After obtaining a bachelor's degree in computer engineering from Tokyo University in 1976, Iwata joined Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (formerly Ministry of International Trade and Industry).During his 30 years with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Iwata acquired extensive experience working in a number of policy bureaus. He also attended a lot of inter governmental meetings as Japan's government representative such as the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the World Semiconductor Council and the Global Business Dialogue on Electronic Commerce, etc.In July 2006, Iwata joined DENSO Corporation as deputy director of the ITS Business Unit, where he was responsible for the development of DENSO's ITS products such as car navigation systems and Electronic Toll Collection systems.In June 2007, Iwata has been named one of the DENSO's executive directors. He was promoted to senior executive director in June 2013.DENSO, a leading global supplier of advanced automotive technology, systems and components, employs over 130,000 people in 36 countries and regions, including Japan.
