Selim joined Advent’s global Portfolio Support team in 2012 to help improve portfolio company performance. Before joining Advent, he spent the last 4 years in operating roles at HMY, a portfolio company of Sagard Private Equity Partners. At HMY, Selim was head of Strategy & PMO (program management office), then General Manager leading the full turnaround of a business unit. Prior to joining HMY, he spent 8 years as a management consultant, most recently with Bain & Co. in France and the US and earlier with Cap Gemini, working on numerous performance improvement and strategy projects in the retail, financial services, manufacturing and technology industries. Selim began his career as a Sales Development Manager in the water treatment industry where he worked for Rhodia in Italy. During his career, he has spent significant time working throughout Europe and the US.
