Currently, he is a Director of [Cellular Dynamics International](/organization/cellular-dynamics-international) (Madison, WI), the world's largest producer of fully functional human cells derived from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPS cells). He is also a Director of Inverna (Madison, WI), an early stage company developing novel technology for peptide drug discovery. Additionally, Dr. Rose is a Member of Tactics II SC Management LLC (Madison, WI), an investment fund focused on companies in the stem cell space. He is also a board Director and the Chief Commercial Officer of Nabsys, a Point Judith portfolio company. Prior to [Nabsys](/organization/nabsys), Dr. Rose served as President of Roche NimbleGen. Previously, he was CEO of NimbleGen Systems, a microarray company that was sold to Roche for $272.5 million. Prior to NimbleGen, Dr. Rose co-founded Genetic MicroSystems, a microarray instruments company that was acquired by Affymetrix for $280 million. He also led the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) business for [Perkin-Elmer](/organization/perkinelmer) during its most dynamic growth phase, both before and after the PCR business was acquired by [Hoffman LaRoche](/organization/hoffmann-la-roche). He was involved in the team that negotiated the acquisition of [Applied Biosystems](/organization/applied-biosystems) by [Perkin-Elmer](/organization/perkinelmer) which created one of the world’s leading healthcare research products companies. Dr. Rose received his B.A. from Cornell University and his Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
