Yasrine Ibnyahya is Senior Systems Engineer at Inmarsat, a role she has held since joining the company in 2011.Yasrine is responsible for leading technology innovation roadmaps and mission concepts as part of the system architecture and strategy division within Inmarsat’s Chief Technology Office. She is also a key driver of Inmarsat’s start-up and entrepreneurship engagement initiatives.Previously, Yasrine has been proposals manager and technical officer responsible for large infrastructure and core technology development programmes in partnership with the European Space Agency. She also delivered next generation safety infrastructures for both the maritime and aviation sectors.Before joining Inmarsat, Yasrine spent three years at satellite manufacturer SSTL –an Airbus company – as a project manager, leading the design and manufacturing of a geostationary telecommunication satellite.She also worked for satellite service provider CLS in Washington DC for two years, developing maritime user terminals for the fisheries market.Yasrine graduated from the University of Bristol with a Master’s degree in Communication Systems and Signal Processing and also completed a Master in Telecommunications Engineering from ENST in France.Outside of work, Yasrine enjoys theatre, yoga and rock climbing.
